This parliamentary inquiry examines the breadth of Victoria’s government school system, from learning outcomes and student wellbeing through to funding, workforce and governance. It was conducted amid a system described as “in flux,” with declining NAPLAN trends, post-pandemic attendance challenges and growing concern about equity. Drawing on submissions and public hearings, the Committee made findings and recommendations across multiple dimensions of schooling. For this hub, it is the most directly relevant policy document on the Victorian context — providing systemic data and parliamentary authority behind the urgency for reform.
